Fist Full of Script: Session Two - Ghost House

Previously on a Fist full of Script:

We found our fated just outside the stopped runaway train, which their quick thinking helped avert disaster.  They were quickly cleared of suspicion of wrong doing by some of the other passengers and when Special Investigator Bohannon arrived.  Bohannon gathered up the people from New Haven and starts to lead them to the area in Malifaux that they would be living in, The Shades.  More specifically, he was taking them to The Mended Drum to meet with Fayvel Pensek who would inform them of their assigned loggings.

The streets are dark, it appears this area got its name from its lack of street lights.  The fated do make out some of the local shops and business, such as Vital Vittles.  Once inside the Mended Drum Sarutobi walks over to talk with the bartender, Pablo.  Soon the fated find out that they have been assigned to a large house together with Dibbler, Clayton Sharpe, Reverend Mason, Frank Givens and a widower and her two children.  Bohannon is unsettled by this and let everyone know about some of the rumours he has heard about the old mansion, Harrods House.  People disappearing, stranger sounds, lights and screams.

To the annoyance of Pensek, Marek made some makeshift torches out of a broken bar chair.  With that, they all make their way to the Harrod House.  The door is unlocked, the fated agree to check it out while the others stay on the porch.  In the main lobby the heroes go through a door on their left.  They find a small sitting room, with a painting of a young Harrod (the previous owner) above the fireplace. As they search the room, the picture begins to change and morph, never when someone is looking at it, until the man in the picture is nothing more then a rotting corpse.  Marek tried to investigate it closer with a torch and a with a bad fate flip, set the portrait a blaze.

They move into the next room to find a library, and were immediately confronted by the ghost of Harrod as he went about his business, picking up books and making notes.  The fated watched him and after the phantom left, they searched the room to find the books Harrod and picked up contained some kind of code.

They returned to the sitting room and call in the others.  They bunkered down there for the night.  Through out the night they are kept awake with sounds of screams and footsteps, and music.  It is not a restful night.

In the morning they continue the search of the house.  They search a ballroom that appeared to be abandoned mid-party, Edward found an old violin.  Part of the floor gave way but everyone was able to avoid falling in, but Sarutobi decided to jump down to the basement to explore on his own.  They fought some ghostly cooks in the kitchens.  And were invited to dine with some upper class ghost in the dinning hall. Marek successfully convinced one of the upercrust ghost to partake in a "high-five".  In the smoking room, the fated came under attack from mounted stuffed animal heads on the walls, and Marek was able to find an elephant gun in a display case.  They also discover a small family of mice living in a derelict piano in the music room.

Sarutobi found an old laboratory in the basement, and narrowly avoided being pulled into a furness by some ghostly hands.  It appears the ghost of Harrod has dragged the bodies of all those who have died in his house down and disposed of them within the furness. In an office beside the laboratory they find an old key amongst the rotting research notes.

The fated head back to the main floor and explore the servants quarters.  A stack of letters written from a friend to one of the cooks are found.  Within the one of the bathroom, Toby goes and cleans off a mirror and narrowly avoids being strangled by another spectre. Toby got very very lucky this game with his flips, it could have turned out much different with the choices he made.

The fated here a call from Clayton Sharpe, telling them to come to the sitting room.  Dibbler has found something and he thinks that you will want to see it.
